My name is Jeannine Johnson, I am 15 years old and I race Junior Dragsters.  I have been racing since I was 9 years old and have done very well, but this year the team made a big breakthrough.  Using Windows XP and wireless network capabilities, we have been able to take a computer with us to each event.  This allows us to download information from my car’s computer to the computer in the trailer.  When we return from each event we are able to move the results from the computer in the trailer to the computer in the office with ease.  Not only does Microsoft allow us to see how the car performs but it also helps us reach out to other people interested in the same sport.  Using Microsoft Messenger I am able to keep in touch will all the great people that we meet while I am traveling to different states and countries.  Another program that has helped our race team excel is Microsoft word.  With Microsoft word we have been able to put together a sponsor/information packet that has helped us get the support we need to stand out.  After the packet was made, the team received sponsorship from several corporations such as Mac Tools, K&N Filters, Lucas Oil, and Digatron Data Acquisition Systems.  To keep such great sponsors, I am expected to do well in school.  Without tools that Microsoft provides such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Windows Movie Maker, this would have been difficult, but with the use of these tools I have managed to maintain a 3.8 GPA for 3 years, which was recognized by the President. Lacking the technology that has been provided by Microsoft our capabilities would be limited, not only academically but also in our hobby and love of racing.
